2016 Awarded Projects

Despite the huge uncertainty surrounding Brexit and lowering oil prices, 2016 has been a busy year for our team. Please see below a list of current and completed tasks awarded to Flow Control in 2016:

A total of 366 manual and actuated valves to Saudi Aramco standards for the Manifa II Project. Engineering by Sepco (China).

From DSME (Doosan Korea) a total of 680 valves for 8 LNG Carriers to 3.2 and 3.1 certification. Some for cryogenic service.

Petronas Malaysia approves valves for the Rapid Johor PP-HP Project. A total of 431 valves to be supplied during 2016.

Manual valves for the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery Project in Kuwait. Engineered by GE Oil & Gas for KNPC.

In excess of 100 manual valves for Spectra Energy, Canada.

Super duplex metal seated trunnion mounted ball valves for ZADCO, Abu Dhabi. This Chicago Bridge & Iron engineered Project is due for delivery early 2017.

2015 was another successful year for the Flow Control team. Not only did work with British Gas on the Lomond and North Everest Protects but we also supplied in excess of 355 valves for the ZADCO Upper Zakum Project in Abu Dhabi. Please read below to find out about the other exciting projects we worked on in 2015.

A total of 355 valves supplied on the ZADCO Upper Zakum EPC 2 Project.

For British Gas on the Lomond & North Everest Projects a large number of valves from OMB.

BAC manual and actuated ball valves for Sonatrach, Algeria on the Alrar Project.

Valve package for Sasol Project, South Africa.

Manual and actuated ball valves manufactured by BAC, Starline and SRI for the Likouala Congo Project.


Major projects awarded in 2014

2014 saw a variety of new projects come through the doors of Flow Control. Not only did we work with Total on providing a large quantity of ESD valves, we also worked on Reliance Petrochemicals’ Turbo Expander Seal System.

Here are some of the projects awarded to Flow Control this year:

Manual and activated ESD valves for Total on their Vega Pleyade Platform Project. A total of 125 valves to meet the strict requirements of Total, were supplied.

A total of 194 manual valves for Reliance Petrochemicals on their Turbo Expander Seal Systems Project in India.

BAC ball valves for INEOS Technologies on the Shenhua Urumqi Project. A total of 142 valves successfully supplied.

Manual valves for Sonatrach First Galgary Petroleum supplied for the Central Area Field Complex Project Bloc 405B Project.


2013 Major projects awarded

There were quite a few large projects awarded in 2013. Our main project of the year being the ZADCO Abu Dhabi refurbishment project.

223 BAC ball valves for Chevron on their Barrow Island LNG Plant Project in Australia.

For the Shell New Zealand Refinery, a number of BAC ball valves for activation to meet Shell mesc specifications.

A multi-million-dollar contract to supply super duplex bodies valves for ZADCO Abu Dhabi on their Zirku Island tank 2, 4 and 11 refurbishment project. These metal seated valves were manufactured by SACCAP in France to a very high specification.


2012 Major projects

Find below a list of prime projects awarded to Flow Control in 2012. 2012 saw a rapid increase in production and projects and soon became one of our busiest years to date.

Highly specified valves for the Talisman Project in the North Sea UK. Engineered by CB & I London for NEXEN.

Up to 24” valves for Saudi Aramco on their Manifa I Project. A total of 344 valves to Aramco Standards.

Manual and activated valves for Centrica Storage Limited (UK) on their C10136 York Development.

From Chicago Bridge & Iron to supply ball valves manufactured by BAC Spain for the Ruwais Storage Tanks complex. End user Takreer.

Chevron for their Wheatstone Project in Australia. A total of 650 manual and activated valves.

50 manual valves for Nexen Petroleum North Sea (UK) on their Golden Eagle Project.

The complete requirement of manual activated and interlocked ball valves for Yara (UK) on their CO2 ship carriers.

Shell mesc specified manual and activated valves for the Leman uptime compression project in the UK North Sea.

McDermott engineered Ichthys Project in Australia for Total. A total of 350 valves supplied to Total specifications.

160 BAC ball valves for the Vopak Oil Terminal at Purfleet Essex.


2011 Major projects awarded

2010 showed a huge growth in African oil production and this counted for over 12.4% of the world’s crude oil output. Shell have increased activity in the region and charged us with the task of creating 352 valves for their DOMGAS project in Nigeria.

During 2011 we were also asked to supply of all the valves for the multibillion dollar Ruwais Storage Tank Project (Gasco). This Chicago Bridge & Iron engineered project was for a total of 727 valves up to 30” size suitable for cryogenic service. Manufactured by Goodwin (UK) and SACCAP (France).

Following on from this we were awarded the NOIEC valve project, which included the complete valve package (total of 945 valves) for NOIEC on their Bandar Abbas Refinery Gasoline Production Increase Project.


2010 – Major Contracts Awarded

2010 was another productive year for Flow Control. After supplying 734 valves for the Jamnagar Project in India, we moved on to provide 92 BAC ball valves for the Hole House Expansion. Our year moved on to work on the Dewpoint Project and finally we worked with Hamworthy UK to provide ball valves for Borsig Boilers.

For Reliance Petrochemical a total of 734 valves from BAC Spain for their Jamnagar Project in India.

For Scottish Gas but engineered by Exterran UK a total of 92 BAC ball valves for the Hole House Expansion project in the U.K.

From Exterran Belleli Sharjah a total of 597 valves manufactured by BAC Spain for the Dewpoint Project (Dapetco).

218 BAC ball valves for Borsig Boilers engineered by Hamworthy UK.


Major Contracts awarded during 2009

In the early part of 2009 we were charged with the task of providing a range of high specification valves of Engro Chemicals in Pakistan. We supplied up to 10″ class 300# ball, gate and globe valves for Engro Chemicals. A total of 296 high spec valves supplied.

During 2009 we were also asked by Chicago Bridge & Iron to supply 175 ball valves from BAC Spain on the Peru LNG Project.

Following on from this we worked for the Saudi Kayan Al Jubail A2AD Project engineered by Fluor Limited and provided a total of 752 valves class rating 150# through 1500#.


A few of the Major Contracts awarded during 2008

Successful inspection Contract awarded to Flow Control was for a number of Motorised and gear operated DN2400 & DN1300 butterfly valves for the Doha Qatar waste treatment facilities project. Flow Control’s Kate Hodson is shown standing next to one of the giant sized DN2400 (96″) class ANSI 150 CS Double flanged butterfly valves. Valve shown is supplied with a Rotork type IQ Electric Actuator was taken after successful witnessed testing and acceptance by client at the manufacturers’ Value Valves in Taiwan. The successful completion of this contract for the largest Diameter sized valves ever supplied by Flow Control is a glowing compliment to the dedicated staff at Flow Control and our suppliers.

Vopak Shanghai Ammonia Storage Facilities Project – Supply of Gate, Globe, Check & Top entry Ball Valves.

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Complex, 30,000 M3 Propylene Tank Project – Ball, Gate & Double flanged Triple offset Butterfly valves for ammonia service. Photos shown during witness inspection at Hobbs Valve in South Wales, manufacturers of the 12″ specially designed triple offset metal seated butterfly valves.

Invista Singapore Project – Large number of Ball, Gate, Globe & Check Valves.

Murco Milford Haven Project – BAC Type TSB trunnion mounted Ball valves to API6D. 6″ & 10″ Class 600#.

BHIT Pakistan project for Costain Construction – In excess of 600 pcs mainly ball valves Class 600# in CS & SS materials, both manual and actuated sold successfully from stock for this quick turnaround project.

658 manual ball valves up to 36” in size for the South pars project in Iran.

415 pcs up to 16” ball valves manufactured by BAC for the Kharg Island project NIOC in Iran.

Daharky 175MW CCPP Project for Doosan Heavy Industries – Up to 10″ Class 150 & 300# manual and actuated BAC Type TSB Trunnion mounted ball valves. Photo shows Steve Marshall & Rob McGeachy of Actreg UK Ltd after having successfully a spring return actuator onto one of the BAC TSB Valves in our Braintree warehouse.

Bantrel Petro-Canada Project – Approx 100 valves up to 36″ size Butterfly, Gate and check valves in manual and Rotork IQ operated. Also a large quantity of 14″ “Y” Filters manufactured by GFSA in the UK.

Incineration project in Chambery France – 63 pcs of Gate, Globe, Check valves as well as filters.

Shell Houdini Project – Cryogenic BAC Ball valves and OMB Gate and globe valves fully tested to Shell Low temp spec 77/306


June 2007 – Contract Awarded

For the supply of BAC Stainless Steel ball valves cleaned for Oxygen service for Messer Carburos S.A Spain at their Taragona plant.


May 2007 – Contract Awarded

For the supply of manual ball valves for Saudi Aramco’s Rabigh project. Aramco approved valves including BAC Ball valves are due to be delivered during July 2007.


May 2007 – Contract Awarded

Manual valves for Formosa Industries Co Ltd, FPC-25 Ningbo project. BAC Ball & Calobri Globe valves due for delivery during November 2007


April 2007 – Contract Awarded

This very large contract is for the supply of 750 pcs of Ball, Gate, Globe & Check valves. Some fitted with Smith Flow Control interlocks for Phase II of Rasgas Qatar Ras Laffan project is due for delivery from July 2007 with completion early 2008.Sizes up to 20″ in Class ratings 150/300 & 800#. Large proportions of valves are for low temp applications and will be tested down to -46 Deg C at a UK independent test house. Manufactured by BAC, BFE, OMB, Velan, Kitz, Shipham, Crane Stockham & Goodwin.


April 2007 – Contract Awarded

Manual valves for Fujiang LNG Project in China. Ball & Globe valves manufactured by BAC & Calobri for delivery in July 2007.


April 2007 – Contract Awarded

Carbon & Stainless Steel manual Gate & Globe valves up to 8″ Size in Class ratings 150/300 & 600#. Quick delivery was required using ex stock valves for the Sabic Yanbu Saudi Arabian project.
